All questions

How much does paintless dent repair cost in Orange County?

Small door dings start at $80 with GoDent. Recent examples: a sharp ding on a Mazda RX-7 quarter panel $120, a Toyota Camry rear bumper dent $160, a body-line dent on a Volkswagen Atlas $560, a crease on a Cadillac Lyriq fender $680. Exact prices come from photos, free.

What makes one dent more expensive than another?

Size, depth, shape (creases cost more than round dings), position on the panel (edges and bodylines are harder), access to the back of the panel, and aluminum versus steel.

Is the quote free and do I have to commit?

The quote is free and there is no obligation. Send photos, get a price, decide.

Does the mobile visit cost extra?

No. The visit anywhere in Orange County is included in the price.

When do I pay?

After the repair, once you have checked the result.

Is PDR covered by insurance, and do you work with insurers?

Hail and larger damage are often covered under comprehensive coverage minus your deductible. Single dents are usually below the deductible. Ask us for a written quote to send to your insurer.

Can PDR fix a dent if the paint is cracked or chipped?

The metal can often be reshaped, but the crack or chip stays and will need paint touch-up. If the paint is cracked across the whole dent, a body shop is the better repair.

What size of dent can be fixed with PDR?

From pinhead hail dents to soft dents bigger than a dinner plate. Depth and paint condition matter more than diameter; a large shallow dent is easier than a small sharp one.

Can PDR fix a crease or bodyline dent?

Yes, when the paint is intact and the metal is not stretched. Creases take longer than round dings and some end up 80–90% better instead of invisible; we tell you which from the photo.

Does paintless dent repair work on aluminum hoods and doors?

Yes, but aluminum is stiffer and less forgiving than steel, so it takes longer and costs more. Tell us the make and model; many hoods and some doors and tailgates are aluminum.

Can you fix a dent on a plastic bumper?

No. PDR is for metal panels. Plastic bumper covers are repaired with heat and refinishing at a body shop.

Can you fix a dent on a panel that was repaired or repainted before?

Only if there is no filler under the paint and the repaint is flexible. Filler cracks when the metal moves. We ask about repair history and look at the photos first.

Does PDR affect factory paint or resale value?

No. Nothing is sanded, filled or sprayed. A paint-depth gauge finds nothing, which is why PDR is the preferred repair before a lease return or a sale.

Will the dent come back?

No. Once the metal is back in its original shape it has no memory of the dent. The repair is permanent.

What is paintless dent repair, exactly?

A technique in which the technician pushes the metal back into shape from behind the panel with steel rods, or pulls it from the front with glue tabs, while reading the panel under a reflection light board. No filler, no paint.

How long does PDR take for a single door ding?

Usually 30 minutes to an hour. Creases and large dents take 1–4 hours. Hail can take a day or two for a fully hit car.

Do you need to remove parts of my car?

Sometimes a trim panel, tail light or headliner is loosened to reach the back of the dent. Everything is reinstalled the same visit.

How do I take good photos for a quote?

Daylight or garage light, not direct sun. One photo straight on, one at a low angle so the reflection shows the dent, one from a step back. Add a coin or hand for scale on big dents.

Can I watch the repair?

Yes. Many customers do. The videos on the work page show what it looks like.

Do you come to my home or office in Orange County?

Yes. Home driveways, office lots, apartment and HOA garages anywhere in Orange County. We bring the tools and lights.

What do you need on site?

A spot where the car can stay for the repair, room to open the doors, and shade if possible. PDR is quiet and clean: no dust, no fumes.

Do I need to be present?

Only at hand-over and at the end to check the result.

What are your hours?

Mon–Sat 10am–8pm, by appointment.
